\u00abFocolare\u00bb is an Italian word meaning \u00abhome\u00bb, that warm corner of the house where the fire burns. This is what they called the first community that Chiara Lubich and her closest friends began to form in Trento (Italy).<\/p>\n

Since then, the essence of the Focolare is to be like a family, radiating that warmth that unites. Its message, inspired by the Gospel, has been compared to a fire that warms hearts and illuminates minds.<\/p>\n

Focolare groups are spread throughout the world and generally include people of various nationalities. Each Focolare group is also made up of married people who, although they live with their families, share the same spirit and mission.<\/p>\n
