{"id":20351,"date":"2026-11-03T23:56:07","date_gmt":"2026-11-03T22:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focolares.es\/?p=20351"},"modified":"2026-11-03T23:56:09","modified_gmt":"2026-11-03T22:56:09","slug":"living-water-uniting-cultures-and-religions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focolares.es\/en\/agua-viva-unir-culturas-y-religiones\/","title":{"rendered":"Living Water: Uniting cultures and religions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nearly one hundred people from different cultures and religious traditions gathered in Cartagena to celebrate creation and discover, through simple gestures, the fraternity that unites them.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Water can cleanse, heal, and give life. It can also become a symbol of connection. This was experienced by nearly one hundred people who participated in the gathering. <em>Time of Creation: Living Water<\/em>, held at Casa Moncada, in La Palma (Cartagena).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For over ten years, this initiative has brought together people from diverse religious traditions around a shared respect for nature. This year&#039;s event included Muslims, Catholics, Christians of other denominations, and members of the Bah\u00e1&#039;\u00ed Faith, from various cultural backgrounds, including Spain, Morocco, and several African countries. The Focolare communities of Aljucer and Murcia collaborated in the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prayers, songs, physical expression, and contact with nature shaped a day of celebration and dialogue. But one of the most significant moments came with a simple gesture: washing each other&#039;s hands freely, among people who perhaps had rarely shared such an experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gesture, performed between people of different cultures and religions, became a concrete expression of respect, closeness, and mutual care. Beyond their differences, everyone could offer and receive the same gesture of kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The day served as a reminder that caring for creation and building fraternity are paths that intersect.
