1. Objective
This page describes the management methods of the official website of the Focolare Movement in Spain. focolares.es ('Site'), in relation to the processing of personal data of users who consult it.
This declaration refers exclusively to this official website of the Focolare Movement in Spain ("Focolare Movement"). It does not therefore refer to any other websites accessible by the user through the links present on this website.

3. Identification of the treatment – How do we collect personal data?
In accordance with current regulations on the protection of personal data, in particular:
- Regulation (European Union) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (pursuant to the 'GDPR').
- Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights.
The Focolare Movement collects personal data through the website when the user:
- Fill out the forms focolares.es;
- Subscribe to the newsletter or bulletin;
- Answer a survey or fill out a web form;
- Fill out a printed form;
- You send an email or communicate by phone, which are then uploaded into the corresponding forms.
4. Personal data collected – What personal data do we collect?
The Focolare Movement collects information when you visit a website, and mainly by completing registration forms.
The data collected is as follows: full name, email or electronic mail, address and specific geo-location data.
As a rule, when personal data is required to use a service or access certain content, providing it will not be mandatory, except in those cases where it is specified that the data is required to access the service. In this case, the user may freely choose not to register and/or not to contract the services.
5. Purposes – What do we use personal data for?
Personal data will be used for the following purposes:
- To provide our Service and meet your requests, to communicate with you regarding your use of our Service or regarding changes to our Service and to respond to your requests. For example, when you sign up for a newsletter, we may use your information to send you that newsletter.
- Identification and authentication purposes. We may use your information for identification and authentication purposes. For example, when you enter your account login ID and password to access one of our registration or login portals, we use your login credentials to authenticate your identity.
- Personalization. We use your information to personalize the content and information we may send or display to you, to provide location customization, personalized help and instructions, and to otherwise personalize your experience while using the Service. For example, if you allow us to collect geolocation data, we use that information to provide content related to your specific location and to identify venues/activity listings in the vicinity of your location.
- Marketing and promotional purposes. We may use your information to send you news and offers. newsletters, or updated or updates about events and to communicate with you about new features, offers, events or products, or to otherwise contact you regarding information we believe may be of interest to you. The data subject to processing will not be used for purposes other than or incompatible with those mentioned above and which motivated its collection. Notwithstanding this, it is stated that the recorded data may be used, in addition to the purposes for which it was expressly collected, for the execution of statistics or the management of incidents. We remind the user that he or she may oppose the sending of communications (unsubscribe) and stop receiving emails from the Focolare Movement website, by communicating his or her wishes to the Focolare Movement, which will proceed as soon as possible. To do so, he or she may send an email to the address indicated in section 2, a letter by conventional mail to the address indicated in section 2 of this document, or directly follow the instructions for unsubscribing detailed at the end of each email from the Focolare Movement.
6. How do we use your personal data?
The data you send will be used for the following purposes:
- Creation of a user account whenever you expressly require it.
- Collection of feedbacks (impressions or comments) whenever you would like to give them.
- Enforce the terms and conditions of the website.
- Navigation support according to your requirements at your request.
- Website protection.
- Management of user accounts whenever you expressly require it.
Unless otherwise provided by law, we will always ask for your consent to process personal data.
7. Consent
The user gives his/her free, express and informed consent to the Focolare Movement to use the data for the purposes indicated in section 5 of this document, as well as its collection in the database of the website of the Focolare Movement in Spain.
The processing of data provided by the user becomes legitimate: (i) by the request for services through the Focolare Movement website, in accordance with the terms and conditions indicated in the service request form (before any eventual acceptance) and which the user, after having read it and if he agrees, can accept by checking the box included for that purpose; and (ii) by the free, informed and unequivocal consent of the user, given after having examined this privacy statement in which the Focolare Movement informs you of the processing it will carry out with your data, and with your consent, by checking the box included for that purpose in the service request form. The processing of data that does not correspond to any of the legal bases indicated above will be carried out if the Focolare Movement considers it necessary to protect a legitimate interest and only if it does not go against the fundamental rights and freedoms of the user.
8. Expiration: how long do we keep them?
Data will be destroyed or archived when they are no longer strictly necessary or relevant for the purposes detailed in section 5 above. In particular, personal data will be kept for a period of no more than one year, unless the user revokes consent in accordance with the information contained in section 5 of this privacy statement and/or for the time required by applicable law.
9. Privacy/International Transfer – Do we disclose data to third parties?
The Focolare Movement will keep the personal data collected private and confidential and will not use it for purposes other than those set out in section 5 of this document. The Focolare Movement requires the signing of confidentiality and personal data processing agreements by its employees and by third parties providing services that access the content of the data files and includes such obligations in the service contracts it enters into with suppliers as indicated in the following paragraph.
The personal data of the user collected by the Focolare Movement will not be transferred, sold, exchanged, transmitted and/or communicated to third parties outside the Focolare Movement without the consent of the user, unless required by law. Employees and service providers who make it possible to maintain the operation of the site, as well as those involved in administrative and IT matters, are obliged to respect the purposes set out in section 5 of this document and/or to provide services to the user, with the obligation to keep the data provided confidential and undertake to comply with current regulations on the protection of personal data. The contracts with the service providers establish the object, scope, content, duration, nature and purpose of the data processing, the type of personal data, the categories of data owners and the obligations and responsibilities of the Focolare Movement and the contractual third parties.
In some cases, the Focolare Movement transfers personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest. For this purpose:

- YouTube. The site contains links to YouTube referring to videos connected to the Focolare Movement's services. As indicated in section 13 below, using these links leads to leaving the site and being redirected to the YouTube page. - Vimeo. The site contains links to Vimeo referring to videos connected to the Focolare Movement's services. As indicated in section 13 below, using these links leads to leaving the site and being redirected to the YouTube page. - Google Fonts. The Focolare Movement may incorporate Google Fonts to improve the visual aesthetics of the site. This integration may involve the collection by Google of information about the user's device and usage. Users can consult the privacy statement and further legal details of Google Fonts by visiting this link.
- Social networks. The Focolare Movement may also use social networks such as Telegram, Whatsapp, Facebook or Instagram, and has integrated functions of these networks into its services. The user may use these social networks only to the extent that he or she is registered with them and has access to the relevant social network with the user himself or herself. These social networks have their own privacy policies and terms and conditions, over which the Focolare Movement has no responsibility or control.
10. Security – How do we ensure data security?
The Focolare Movement declares its intention to adopt the necessary technical and organisational measures to guarantee the security, integrity and conservation of data in compliance with the provisions of the GDPR.
The user acknowledges that existing technical means of providing security are not impermeable and that even when all reasonable security precautions are taken, it is possible to suffer manipulation, destruction and/or loss of information. In the event that a security incident has been detected that entails a significant risk for the data subject, this event will be communicated without delay to the competent supervisory authority, while the Focolare Movement will not be liable for the loss or cancellation of data by users. Likewise, the Focolare Movement accepts no liability for any damage caused by computer viruses and other cyber-attacks.
11. Rights of the data subject and methods for exercising them – What rights do I have as the data subject?
Current privacy regulations grant users a number of rights, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Revoke consent at any time. Users have the right to revoke consent once they have previously given consent to the processing of their Personal Data.
- Oppose the processing of your own Data. Users have the right to object to the processing of their own Data provided that this is done on a legal basis other than consent.
- Access your own Data. Users have the right to learn whether Data is being processed by the Owner, to obtain information regarding certain aspects of the processing and to obtain a copy of the Data undergoing processing.
- Check and request rectification. Users have the right to verify the accuracy of their own Data and request its updating and correction.
- Limit the processing of your own Data. Users have the right to limit the processing of their Data. In this case, the Owner will not process the Data for any purpose other than storing it.
- Have your Personal Data cancelled or otherwise deleted. Users have the right to obtain the cancellation of their Data by the Owner.
- Receive your own Data and have it transferred to another owner. The user has the right to receive his/her own Data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, if technically feasible, to have it transmitted to another data controller without any hindrance.
- File a claim. Users have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
The Focolare Movement reminds that, when the response to the request made has not been satisfactory, the user may contact and present his/her complaint to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
12. Training – How do we prepare to comply with the regulations of the law?
Focolare Movement staff whose tasks are related to the processing of personal data are updating their training in order to ensure greater protection of personal data and the rights of their owners.
13. Links to Third Parties – Does our Site contain links to other sites?
The site contains links to third-party websites, with or without advertising content, whose privacy policy is not dependent on the Focolare Movement. The Focolare Movement is not responsible for the content, use and activities of these linked sites. In all cases, the Focolare Movement undertakes to do its best to forward to links that are consistent with and respectful of institutional purposes.
14. Cookies – What cookies do we use?
When you visit the Focolare Movement website, some information is stored on your computer in the form of "cookies" or similar files. The site uses cookies to collect data about site activities and to improve the user's experience when using the site.
The user must know that in order to browse the site, it is not necessary for the user to allow the installation of cookies sent from the site. This can be requested only in relation to certain services. The user can cancel the cookies on the hard drive of his/her computer, prevent access to his/her computer either through the browser itself or by choosing the corresponding option when asked if he/she wants to use cookies for these purposes or in accordance with the Cookie Policy of the Focolare Movement.
Cookies are information files that a website or the provider of certain services on the site transfers to the hard drive of the user's computer through the browser program. The Focolare Movement reserves the right to engage the services of third parties to analyze and include users of the site, without being able to use the information collected for purposes other than improving the services of the Focolare Movement.
16. Informed consent
The use of the site by the user implies knowledge and full acceptance of the privacy policy of the Focolare Movement and the terms and conditions of the Focolare Movement. Likewise, when requesting services, the user accepts the privacy policy of the Focolare Movement and its terms and conditions.

This is the current version of the Focolare Movement's privacy policy, updated on December 17, 2024.
The Focolare Movement may, at any time and without notice, modify this privacy policy. These modifications will be effective upon their publication on the website or upon notification to users. The user must keep informed of the terms included by visiting the website periodically.
