Peace and fraternity in education

The Igino Giordani Foundation (FIG) and the Faculty of Education of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), promote a project that fosters mental well-being and peaceful coexistence through training, practical resources, and spaces for reflection.

The project, entitled "Alliance for the Promotion of Peace and Fraternity in Education," is designed to provide tools to help build peaceful and fraternal coexistence, an essential foundation for the well-being of individuals and society.

Through a practical and interdisciplinary approach, tools will be provided that promote comprehensive well-being, encompassing physical, psychological, and social dimensions. Strategies based on promoting mental health and preventing psychopathology will be facilitated in the areas of education, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution, as a means of ensuring peaceful and fraternal coexistence.

The project will use the Solidarity Service Learning (SSL) methodology, based on the application of theoretical knowledge in real-life scenarios, and will follow three main stages:

  • Diagnostic Stage: Identify the most urgent needs to address them using psychological assessment and community diagnosis methodologies and prepare materials.
  • Training Phase: Addressing current issues that threaten people's well-being and jeopardize peaceful coexistence and relationships. A series of 30-minute informative webinars will be held on:
    • Eating Disorder
    • Social Media Addiction
    • Youth Depression and Suicide:
    • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)
    • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
  • Application or service stage: Dissemination and dissemination of the developed material. Assessment of the impact on the immediate environment.
