On March 1st, the following was published: Second Report of the Focolare Movement Regarding known cases of abuse within the Focolare movement and the steps taken over the past year to eradicate this scourge. The report is titled: The Protection of the Person in the Focolare Movement. And as a subtitle: Annual report on activities and data related to cases of sexual abuse of children, adolescents, persons in vulnerable situations, and abuses of conscience, spirituality, and authority. 2023.
The publication of the report goes hand in hand with a interview with Catherine Belzung, who has been asked to read and evaluate the document. Catherine is a professor of neuroscience in France, a senior member of the University Institute of France (2014), president of the multidisciplinary research center iBrain; since 2022 he coordinates the UNESCO Chair on Child Abuse, formed by an association of universities and institutions from 16 countries. It is also jointly responsible for the International Center for Dialogue with Contemporary Culture of the Focolare Movement.
