“The Focolare became apostles of dialogue, as an excellent way to promote unity”.
(John Paul II)
Church
From the Focolare, we work to spread the spirit of communion in all areas of the Church. We want to walk together with the different ecclesial realities and be at the service of the local Church. We do this through various movements:

Priestly Movement
It brings together diocesan priests, permanent deacons and Catholic seminarians, as well as ministers from other Christian Churches. Every Easter Week, we organize meetings in different places in Spain, spaces to share and deepen the spirituality of unity.
Parish Movement
It is a living expression within the local Church. We seek to integrate the contributions of the faithful, associations and movements present in the parish, to create more united communities.
Movement for consecrated women and men
We accompany religious women and men and members of secular institutes to live the spirituality of communion in their communities, fostering unity among charisms and weaving relationships that enrich all of God's people.
Dialogues
Dialogue is at the heart of our mission. It is a commitment to build bridges and fraternal relationships between people, communities and cultures. We believe that diversity, far from separating us, is a wealth that unites us.
Church-Communion
In this dialogue within the Church, we promote mutual love, mutual understanding and collaboration between ecclesial movements and communities. Together, we discover the unique gifts that each can bring to the Church and to society.

Ecumenical
Christians from different Churches live a common spirituality, sharing the richness of the Gospel as we live it. As Chiara Lubich said, this “dialogue of life” creates a people prepared to advance towards the unity desired by Jesus.

In Spain, we actively collaborate in initiatives such as the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and in interconfesional associations.
Interfaith
We believe in the power of dialogue between religions to build brotherhood and peace. We respect differences, without seeking syncretism, and we work from the richness of each tradition.
We collaborate with Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, African traditional religions and followers of other religions in meetings and prayers for peace. In this way, we try to make the Golden Rule a reality: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

The second International Interreligious Congress entitled “One Human Family” was held in Castel Gandolfo (Rome) in 2024. It was a space for communion and reflection where the challenges and commitment to peace were addressed: peace between people and peace with creation. The meeting was attended by participants of various religions, united by this common goal.
Non-religious convictions
Dialogue is also open to people of diverse cultures, with or without religious reference. This dialogue with humanity - in the broadest sense - develops through the deepening and promotion of shared human values and through the constant search for truth that is inherent to many men and women.

This dialogue takes shape in debates on specific topics, in social and cultural initiatives, and in solidarity actions. It thus becomes a driving force for personal and community growth, an opportunity to experience the fruits of the fraternity that we want to build with everyone.
In several cities there are already groups working along these lines. If you want to know more, Contact us or visit these websites:
