The Focolare Movement renews its call for solidarity to help the thousands of displaced families.
The news that continues to arrive from the Middle East stirs pain and concern in many people who sincerely desire peace and security for all, without exception. At times, in the face of the severity of events, calls for diplomacy or invitations to pray for peace may seem weak or even naive.
And yet, precisely in moments like these—marked also by other war and humanitarian crises in different parts of the world—a courageous and concrete response is more necessary than ever. A response born from each person's commitment to the common good and to peace.
The Focolare Movement, present with its communities in many conflict-affected areas, is renewing its closeness and commitment. It is doing so through emergency aid to the most vulnerable populations, forced to live in uncertainty and fear, and also by promoting active citizenship initiatives within civil society.
Therefore, the Focolare Movement is once again launching an appeal for solidarity to support thousands of displaced families. Many have lost their homes; others are finding refuge in shelters that are reopening their doors despite increasingly limited resources.
In this changing world, we want to continue standing with those who are suffering, supporting local initiatives that offer refuge and concrete assistance. Every contribution can provide immediate relief and, at the same time, open paths to hope and rebuilding.
We invite everyone to join this commitment. This is also how peace is built: by choosing not to look the other way and by remaining close to those who need it most.
