The pre-assembly itinerary has ended, which, during the last few weeks, has accompanied the preparation of the General Assembly of the Focolare Movement, which will be held from March 1 to 21, 2026 in Castel Gandolfo (Italy).
This journey has been a time of listening, dialogue, and communal discernment for those who will participate in the Assembly: elected representatives from the various geographical areas, branches, and movements; members by right (current government, General Council, and delegates from different zones); and guests of the president. It has also been a time of preparation to arrive at the Assembly with a more shared perspective on the challenges and hopes of the Movement today.
The General Assembly is one of the most important moments in the life of the Movement: in addition to being an opportunity to respond to the vocation of the Focolare Movement —to live for unity—, during those days the new leaders will be elected and there will be dialogue and voting on proposals and motions that will guide the path for the next five years.
During the preparation process, contributions have been received from all over the world, the result of both community and personal reflection. The Preparatory Committee explained that these contributions are being grouped and synthesized by theme to facilitate the work of the Assembly, ensuring that none are lost: everything will form part of a “book of proposals” available to participants.
A significant feature of this journey has been the leading role of the new generations: children, teenagers and young people have shared dreams, commitments and views on the future of the Movement… Even with drawings!, which will be displayed in the Assembly spaces as inspiration and a living voice of their experience.
As March approaches, the invitation remains open: the entire Work is called to contribute, to support with prayer, and to live this time as an opportunity for renewal, to walk together—with realism and
hope—towards an increasingly concrete unity.
